Fixed Hour Prayer for August- October 17th

Morning Prayers: Between the hours of 6 and 9am

Prayers for the City

Pray The Lord’s Prayer

Scripture

You are Peter, a rock. This is the rock on which I will put together my church, a church so expansive with energy that not even the gates of hell will be able to keep it out. And that’s not all. You will have complete and free access to God’s kingdom, keys to open any and every door; no more barriers between heaven and earth, earth and heaven. A yes on earth is a yes in heaven. A no on earth is no in heaven.  Matthew 16:19

Community Prayer:

Father you have called us to be the Church, the body of Christ in San Francisco. Help us to love our neighbors, our friends and even our enemies. Help us to be a light in the darkness, a city on the hill. Help us to see people as you see them. Help us God to be about your business of bringing grace, love and hope to a broken world. Help us to live our lives in such a way that that only makes sense if you exist.

Midday Prayers: Between the hours of 11am and 2 pm

Prayer for a Vision for our Future

Pray The Lord’s Prayer

Scripture

Everyone around was in awe– all those wonders and signs done through the apostles! And all the believers lived in a wonderful harmony, holding everything in common. The sold whatever they owned and pooled their resources so that each person’s need was met.

They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were being saved.          Acts 2:43-47

Community Prayer:

Father we are longing to serve your Kingdom. We want to be the body you have called us to be. Help us as we plan and prepare for our future. Give us clear direction as to who we are to become. Give all of us a vision for our future together. This is our prayer.

Evening Prayers Between the hours of 5 and 8 pm

Prayer for our Community

Pray the Lord's Prayer

Scripture

Lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.                               Ephesians 4: 1-6

 Community Prayer:

Father, I lift up our church community to you this day. I pray, God, that you would bless each person in our church this day and draw them close to you. I specifically lift up... (you are encouraged to go through the directory during the week) and ask that you would bless them and allow them to live out their faith in you with joy that is overflowing.

Bedtime Prayers: Before retiring

Prayer for the Leaders of our Church

Read Psalm 23

Scripture

I’m praying not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me

Because of them and their witness about me

The goal is for all of them to become one heart and mind–

Just as you Father are in me and I am in you

So that they might be one heart and mind with us.   John 17:20

Community Prayer

Father, I pray for the leaders of GGCC. I Pray that you would protect them and keep them safe and that you would bless them this day.  I pray for Edwin, Julie and their family, specifically as they lead us. I pray for the trustees: Keith, Anne-Marie, Tim, Eric, Mary, Wylie, Rene and Kate as they continue to lead. I pray for Jeff as he leads us. Help them, Lord, to find clear direction for us as a church community.
